Care farming at Brucklay includes the use of the animals, woodland, crops, market gardening and the agricultural landscape. We offer a number of work related activities, for a range of participants with different needs. It helps promote mental and physical health through normal farming activities.
It seeks to develop peoples’ possibilities and potential rather than focusing upon their limitations.
Research shows that many participants involved on care farms experience improvements to their physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being, they connect with a healthy daily structure and meaningful work in a natural environment, gaining social, educational and training benefits. It also offers an atmosphere where people feel safe, respected and valued.
